In Australia, we’re known as the lucky country. The access to clean, safe water that many of us have makes us truly lucky. We can turn on the tap for drinking water, to run a bath or to wash the car. Families around the world aren’t always as fortunate.

Sadly, nearly 900 million people globally don’t have access to clean water (nearly 13% of the Earth’s population) Even those who do have clean water often have to walk long distances to get to the nearest water supply. When they get there, the water is often contaminated and makes people sick.

As the global population grows, predictions are that by 2050, up to 4 billion people may be living without enough clean water.
