In 2010, One Water was the official water of the Wallabies. We had a great year supporting the Wallabies, and we know lots of rugby fans became fans of One Water in the process. The One Team met with some of the players while they were training – pictured here are the One Team with Wallabies Quade Cooper, Will Genia, Rocky Elsom and Matt Giteau.
Following our relationship with the Wallabies in 2010, James became a brand ambassador for One Water. When asked about why he wanted to become involved, James said:
“When I heard about the work that One Water is doing, I was very excited to get involved and see firsthand the impact that this was having around the world. Having grown up in Australia, it is easy to take clean running water for granted, however, being fortunate enough to travel the world playing rugby, I have seen that not everyone is as lucky as we are in Australia.”
Our thanks to James for all his assistance and support over the last few years.
In 2012, through our relationship with James O’Connor, the Melbourne Rebels supported us during one of their home games. They chose their Super XV ‘Family Day’ game in March 2012, and provided Rebels supporters with a great day in the Melbourne sunshine. Unfortunately, the Rebels were beaten 33-26 by the Cheetahs, from South Africa, but game goers donated money to The One Foundation Australia, and heaps of people found out about the great work that we are doing in Asia from the sale of One Water here in Australia.
We have also been supported by the Rugby community in Sydney – in 2012, we partnered with Eastwood Rugby Club aka ‘The Woodies’ to provide One Water refreshment to supporters at a home game in Sydney. We were also the official water of their Annual Dinner at the Bayview Boulevard. A fantastic evening, and great support for One by the Woodies!
A long time supporter of One Water, the Rugby Union Players Union Lunches are now infamous in the rugby world. For the last few years, One Water has been the official water at the Annual Awards Dinners, and also at the Bledisloe Cup Dinner in 2012.
We had a great time at the 2012 Annual RUPA Lunch, with our Ambassador Rhys Muldoon who MC’d the event.
